About Us

“Saraswati English Medium School” is an NGO working into literacy rural development for the farmers in the village of Bhairavnath nagar , Tal- Shrirampur, Dist- Ahmednagar, State- maharashtra.

We, at “Saraswati” empower the often-forgotten rural children who have limited educational facilities and as a result are involved in farming activities or domestic help at a very tender age. We break the cycle of illiteracy creating parents who have a value for education.

Serving the society and giving back to society in one’s moral duty. We are no different and believe in the same. So, we started Saraswati School in year 2010 with 30 poor children, 2 teaching staff and one non-teaching staff. My complete family of 4 members too helped towards completing the dream of educating poor children and helping them to lead lives with dignity. So, the team of 6 members took this daunting task and with their tireless efforts, in around 8 years, we have grown and are now able to serve 378 such children. Apart from this, we also believe in empowering women from all backgrounds. Keeping this in mind, we brought women out from their homes, conducted various courses like, personality development, teachers training, etc, and groomed them. This brought immense confidence and helped them to realize their dreams.

The aim of education is to enlighten one’s mind so that one could have a broad mind as well as a broad outlook

By God’s grace , we have employed around 12 non-teaching staff coming from economically unstable conditions. We ensure to train them and make them skilled labours so that they earn their livelihoods. Thus, we have also contributed in the NSDC programme developed by Ministry of India.

We have been actively involved in various activities like Women empowerment, Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan, Soft skills development, Sanitation and hygiene programmes, women issues and awareness.

It is say that “Knowledge is weapon”. Bhairavnath nagar, a village place, though geographically is closely connected to town Shrirampur is miles away from the all-round development of children and the population. We take care of creating awareness about government schemes, importance of education in today’s world of globalization and bringing them at par with the urban population. This weapon of knowledge would serve to be a powerful tool for rural people’s survival and will eliminate the need for them to relocate to urban areas.

We provide an affordable education system by using the “learn now pay later” schemes. In this scheme, we provide them all the basic infrastructure and school kits free of cost. Parents pay fees as and when they have money in hand ( wait time varies  from 2 days to 2 years too), as a result, children don’t drop out from schools due to financial issues.

Initiatives taken by school are : ‘Bal Bank’ to teach children about saving money and optimum utilization of money. Sponsored our sportsman in “Hapkido boxing” and received a Gold medal at international level, Smart Computer labs, Free education for girl students, Educational Training programs for mothers of pupils, teachers training, Sports and military training.

Vision

Our vision is to connect to all possible rural areas and work on grass root level with people. We also want every child to get their rights to education, and would earnestly work to make our county’s literacy ratio to 100 %.

Mission

Our mission is to promote and provide qualitative education at affordable costs to children and communities, which are socially and economically deprived.
